This finely wrought brooch (circa 1880) depicts a falcon resting atop a crescent moon with a gem studded chain dangling from its beak.

This attention grabbing brooch is 18k gold (unmarked, but acid tested) and the dangle is accented with a ruby, diamonds, and post set pearl.

The brooch measures 2 inches wide by 1.1 inches from top to bottom. It is in very good condition with evidence of a past repair near the hinge (visible only under magnification and a chip to the ruby (also only visible under magnification).

This brooch would look smashing on a gentleman's lapel, but it would also be a marvelous addition to any antique jewelry collection.
